On Blueberry Hill
Bill and I spent the weekend at Leo and Kristen's new home near Hawley, PA. They had just moved in three days earlier. We went to give them a hand and of course we were eager to see their new home which is very very very nice. It's half a mile down a dirt road where you feel as if you are out in no where and looking for a camping site - not a house! It is so quiet and peaceful there. You just hear the birds chirping. Behind their home is a large hill covered with wild blueberry bushes, ferns and trees. The blueberries were just beginning to ripen and Bill was the first to discover them. We saw the male and female wild turkey strutting around the hill and also a deer. A neighbor told us that they saw a bear with two cubs last year. Nature left a beautiful large rock in their backyard which I am pictured sitting on.
We helped them to get settled but we also found time for some recreation. There was a bluegrass concert only a few miles away on the grounds of the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sancturary which we decided to go to. We sat on a tiered lawn surounded by tall pine trees. The weather was beautiful. The following day we drove into town and saw their Home Depot, K-Mart and Walmart and hospital. There are quite a few lakes in the area - the largest is Lake Wallenpaupack.
We are very happy for Leo and Kristen with their new house and a new baby on the way. For more on Blueberry Hill go to Bill's blog www.adramofscotch.blogspot.com.
